Rowing Video Of The Week: Kiwis Training through Christmas Break

This week's featured video comes to us from New Zealand, where Olympian Nathan Twaddle checked in recently with some of the top Kiwi rowers on training and Christmas break.
The video offers a light-hearted take on New Zealand summer training, with a strong focus on what's ahead as we draw ever closer to an Olympic year. However, arguably the best team in the rowing world has seen its fair share of controversy lately.
Shortly before the holiday, news broke that legendary Rowing New Zealand coach Dick Tonks would potentially be parting ways with the Kiwi national team, when it became known that he was also coaching athletes from other nations. The news came as a shock to the squad and to the rest of the rowing community, given the Kiwis' success under Tonks and the timing of his departure, with just a few months to go until Rio. Check out the RR Newsletter for more information and links on that developing situation.
It hasn't been all bad around the New Zealand camp, though—the banter level remains high with Eric Murray of the Kiwi Pair taking on an entirely new challenge for Christmas, and with considerably more white showing in his beard this time.
So successful was Murray's Santa that athletes all over the world began seeing him in other places...
@kiwipair Happy Holidays. Great to see you on your new show. They've mucked up your chin a bit. pic.twitter.com/FIXddAHMzT
