Video Of The Week: Reading University's Singular Sculling Focus

This week, we're taking a quick break from our coverage of the U.S. intercollegiate racing season to showcase our friends across the pond at Reading University.

While RUBC has been featured in the past on our Instagram account thanks to some pretty epic clips (some of which are included as part of the above video), the point is well and truly driven home by this feature—Reading is one of the few university rowing programs anywhere to be focused entirely on sculling (something that will no doubt resonate with UMass women's head coach Jim Dietz, who has pushed for more sculling events at the college level in the U.S. for years).

RUBC has had a fine showing thus far in 2015, winning gold in the men's and women's champ quads at the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Championships in Nottingham, and will likely have competitive athletes and entries bound for Henley Royal Regatta this summer.

Still to come this week on RR: Recap and reaction from a great ACRA Championship Regatta that saw the Michigan Wolverines once again emerge victorious in the men's varsity eight, while Grand Valley also defended their title in the women's varsity eight.
