Video Of The Week: Kent School Boat Club's Tampa Training Camp

This week's video comes to us from Kent School Boat Club, and documents their recent Florida training camp, which evidently featured some changeable weather, plenty of hard strokes, and a solid dose of off-the-water banter.

Founded in 1922, Kent is one of the more venerable junior rowing programs in the U.S., and boasts some pretty notable alumni, including the legendary Hart Perry (featured in this video with Harry Parker, George Pocock, and Ted Nash), Head Of The Charles Executive Director Fred Schoch, USRowing High Performance Director Curtis Jordan, and current Yale men's head coach Steve Gladstone, to name a few. Last year, Kent's top crew placed second behind Gonzaga (the high school) at the National Schools' Championship Regatta—a scholastic race (teams compete over a 1500m course)—and saw their second eight crew take first place among JV eights at the NEIRA (New England Interscholastic Rowing Association) Regatta. And, judging from the above, it looks like Kent is logging the miles necessary to make another run at the podium this year.

Thanks very much to Sam for sending us the video! You can learn more about KSBC via their official website.
